House by the lake

This three-storey residence stands directly on the idyllic banks of Lake Maggiore. The house was first stripped down to the foundation walls so that it could be updated to meet modern needs. The exterior of the building remained largely unchanged, while the interior underwent a contemporary and elegant transformation. The colours of the newly added materials are tone-on-tone. They give the interior a homely atmosphere and yet are restrained enough not to compete with the view of the lake. Frameless windows have been reset in larger formats, making the most of the interaction with the scene outside.
